Second day results of Greco-roman Olympic qualifying tournament

Ali Mohammadi won 66kg silver medal

In second day competitions of Greco-roman Olympic qualifying tournament in Italy, Rome, Ali Mohammadi lost to Sergey Kovalenko from Russia in 66kg  final (2-0 , 2-1)

Also in 60kg final Davor Stefanek from Serbia defeated Dilshod Aripov from Uzbekistan 3-0, 6-2. 96kg gold medal was captured by Bulgarian, Kaloyan Dinchev. Lajos Virag from Hungary didn’t wrestle in final. Another Iranian wrestler in second day, Hamid Bavafa, failed to qualify Iran in 60kg. He was eliminated by Jiang Sheng from China in quarter final. Tomorrow Farshad Alizadeh competes in 74kg to obtain sixth Olympic licenses for Iran Greco-roman team. He will face Goran Bulatovic from Montenegro in first match.


Second day qualified wrestlers of Greco-roman qualifying tournament in Rome:

60kg: 1- Davor Stefanek(Serbia) 2- Dilshod Aripov (Uzbekistan) 3- Vitali Rahimov(Azerbaijan) & Soner Sucu(Turkey)

66kg: 1- Sergey Kovalenko(Russia) 2- Ali Mohammadi(Iran) 3- Mikhail Siamionov(Belarus) & Kanatbek Begaliev(Kyrgyzstan)

96kg: 1- Kaloyan Dinchev(Bulgaria) 2- Lajos Virag(Hungary) 3- Oleg Kryoka(Ukraine) & Mehmet Ozal(Turkey)
